  • My summer so far: NBA finals, activities, job

I wrote this a few days ago but forgot to make it public. I was gonna add a photo, but I'll save that for the next entry. Oops...

Sorry Laker fans. It just wasn't meant to be. The Celtics just have way too many ringers! Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett all on one team?! They were all stars in their own separate teams. It's like Superman, Hulk, and Spawn coming from the 3 different comic book companies. Oh wow, geek alert huh? Sorry.

Haven't done too much this summer. Much of it consists of me watching movies with my Netflix and Blockbuster trial membership offers, going to the gym, selling junk to make cash on ebay, buying junk on ebay to counter my ebay earnings, and some random errands.

Lets see... I went to a Giants game vs the Dodgers with some friends and a few youth group members from my church. Oh, on the way there I saw a Caltrain train that had t-boned a truck. Not something you see everyday, and unfortunately it was the most exciting thing I saw that day. As crappy as the game was, it was fun to just hang around in the city with friends even though a girl from the youth group kept asking about Jenny and I. She asked if we were married, and why weren't we married, we make a cute couple, etc. Umm right. She has no clue how old this is lol. I do admit, it was funny.

I didn't get any jobs I wanted. I've settled for S&F for my summer job. I have friends that work here and many that have worked for them. The pay sucks and the hours will suck as well. Why will I be ok with it? For some reason I enjoy physical work considering a lot of it consists of merchandising. It feels like exercise to me, and during my summer break I think it will be alright.

There are so many activities to do here including free concerts in various parks, at the beach, etc and I haven't been to any of them. Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk has the free concerts with 70s and 80s bands, Radio Alice had the free concert at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, downtown San Jose has music in the park every Fridays and free movies in the park every Wednesdays. I want to feel like I did something exciting and fun this summer. Ohhh yeah baby Sdog bday trip! At least I got that coming up to be excited about. Awwww yeah, who's game? I hope my boss gives me the day off lol.

  • News flash! They have invented the "Gay-dar"

Imagine a machine that can scan a person and determine if you are straight or gay. Well they claim it is possible. Swedish researchers report that male brain scans look distinctively different than female brain scans. So straight males and lesbian brain functions work the same, and straight females and gay males brain functions work the same way. The news showed brain scans and there were spots shown on the scans and it looked very different than the other. Very interesting. The male/gay scans had one small spot, the female/lesbian scans had spots everywhere. What are they saying about men? I'm offended! LOL

Anyway If you didn't know, you should know that gay marriage is now officially legal in our beautiful state of California. Being raised as a Christian, I am not fond of gay marriage but I am not against it. Thing is, I am as liberal as a Christian can possibly be. You may ask, why wouldn't I be against it? Simple, we live in the US and we should let our citizens decide. I hear many critics say that the US is founded on Christian beliefs and we should outlaw things against the bible. My analogy for this is, would you ban premarital sex just because the bible forbits it? How about remarrying? I heard that it is forbidden and many many Christians do it. Even more hypocritical, pastors marry the 2nd+ marriages. I still have mixed feelings about this because it is so controversial but it should be up to them. Anyway enough of my ranting.

  • Hulk vs Iron Man?

I haven't a clue, but it is confirmed that Tony Stark AKA Iron Man is making a cameo in the Incredible Hulk movie coming up. How do I know this? Well I just saw the commercial on TV and Tony Stark was in it. I confirmed it online as well. Have you noticed comic book turned movies have been quality lately? I know it is very difficult to squeeze years, even decades of stories into a single movie but they have managed to do it. I really enjoyed Batman Begins. It was much more true to the dark nature of the comic book. I look forward to The Dark Knight with Christian Bale coming out next month along with Keith Ledger's last performance. He looks brilliant as the Joker from the preview shots and I'm anxious to see it. The Incredible Hulk should be well written and contain some good acting as well by the versatile Ed Norton, but I know I wont get over how unrealistic the Hulk's face looks. I just don't have that imagination I had as a kid anymore. Actually it was quite a problem having such an active imagination and daydreaming... but that is another blog entry.

So I had an interview today and it went rather well. I hate group interviews, and I rarely use the word hate because it is a hateful word. Duh. But really I get more nervous because it feels like a who can BS the best competition. I'm not keeping my hopes up. I hear they only hire a very small percentage, otherwise known as the biggest BSer. Maybe they're in need workers and I get a break? *crosses fingers*

Anybody want to learn Korean? I've been trying to vamp up my vocab because I have really bad vocab so I have a few good resources. You can download them as MP3s and listen to them too. Today I went for a hike and listened to it haha.

Who wants to go to the new Hooters? They opened one up RIGHT by Deokrillia's house!!!!!!! Nice hahaha!

  • Time Management

One of the best things about this time of year is how much more time it seems you have to do things. The sun is up much longer than usual and it just feels good. I just finished washing my car and it is 7:45! Still enough light to wash another car, and no that isn't an invitation for you to drive over for me to wash your car.

The funny thing is that I already have so much time being jobless and classless. No, don't misinterpret that. I have plenty of class, I mean I have no school this summer. *ssulung!* So what am I doing with my time? I've been submitting applications and resumes all over the internet trying to get a job.

There has been a big delay, but I've got an interview for a position I am interested in. It's a part time gig in a local retail store, but I have high hopes for this company. They pay well for retail and they only hire part timers. Sucks for the summer, but great for the fall when I start school again. Pray for me that I get this job! I need some cash flow already. I haven't been very smart in planning out my job searching.

Another thing I've been doing is getting back into Kpop. My favorite Korean group of all time, Brown Eyes, is returning to make their 3rd album. They split up due to contract issues with management pursuing their own projects. I'm stoked! I'll get more into it in my next post. Now to catch a movie... don't worry there is no money involved, I'm using my AMC movie pass that I bought like 6 years ago.  I'm down to only a few but my investment buying $100 worth of $5 movie passes has been paying off!

About Me

  • Like most blogs, its about my daily life... well pretty random stuff. Life is like a box of chocolates... its yummy and happy, sometimes bitter and bad, and even a little nutty. I have a few hobbies and they are most likely reflected in my blog.
